🌳 Community Roots Day

Volunteer with Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful to plant trees around our city!

Community Roots Day

  • Details: Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful will provide the trees, tools, and training you need to participate. Sign up on Eventbrite, and you’ll get an email the week of the event with meetup details.

  • Where: One volunteer group will plant native redbuds at Brookberry Farms, while the other will plant 70 fruit trees in Kimberly Park to create the region’s first large-scale urban orchard trail! The trees will be open for public picking, expanding access to fresh, affordable produce.

  • When: Saturday, Feb 28, at 9 AM

  • What: Mooney’s Mediterranean Cafe will host a pop-up at Krankies on Feb 20 & 21 from 5-9 PM!

  • Menu: Four pitas (including fan favorite “Jezebel”), hummus, harra fries, and moujadara!

  • Context: Ameen “Mooney” David opened Mooney’s Mediterranean Cafe on 4th Street in 2009. The restaurant closed during the pandemic.
