️⚽️ World Cup in Winston
The German Men’s National Team arrived in Winston-Salem today to begin training for the World Cup! We asked team member Stevie, our resident soccer expert, to share his thoughts about the upcoming tournament.
Background: Stevie has played professionally in Chile, Mexico, and Germany! He runs his own training company, The Complete Footballer, and has coached soccer at multiple local schools.
His Take: Stevie is excited for WS to host Team Germany, and as a Canadian, he’s obviously rooting for Team Canada! He’s eager to see so many cultures gather in North America and hopes the event fosters a sense of unity.
“To me, that is the power of sport, the power of events like this, and, even more uniquely, the power of soccer because it is such a worldwide sport.”

🚶♀️ Women on the Move (Literally)
"Women come for the miles, but they stay because they found people who know their name." That's how Devone Hart describes Step Sisters Walk, the Winston-Salem walking community that just celebrated its 1st anniversary.

Backstory: Devone started walking for her health in 2017. During quarantine, she logged 500 miles in 4 months and started bringing women along. She saw they were craving community, so when an opportunity arose in 2025, she created Step Sisters Walk.
The group now has chapters in Kentucky and Washington, with more in the works!
What: You can join Step Sisters Walk on Tuesdays at Tanglewood Park and every other Saturday at various local spots! Step Sisters is more than just a walking group — Devone also hosts wellness workshops, journaling experiences, and social gatherings like game nights.
