Grab your popcorn. The RiverRun International Film Festival returns to the Triad for its 28th anniversary!
What: Widely recognized as a top regional festival, RiverRun aims to build a deeper appreciation for cinema. It’s ranked among FilmFreeway’s Top 100 Best-Reviewed Festivals and is an Academy Award–qualifying festival for documentaries and animated shorts.
Details: April 17–25 across Winston-Salem and Greensboro, featuring 178 films from 47 countries, including documentaries, student films, narratives, and animated shorts.
Local: The “Carolina Stories” section spotlights films made by NC talent or set in our region. One of these, “The Dwellers,” follows eight housing-challenged attendees of a local church called The Dwelling.
Details: Grab tickets for individual screenings or see multiple films with a "sampler" package. Plus, some screenings are free to attend — just be sure to register in advance.
