A MESSAGE FROM THE DOWNTOWN GRILLE

The Chef Who Goes to the Source

"I have no relationship with stuff that comes off a random truck," says Harrison Littell, head chef at The Downtown Grille. Instead, he can tell you the name of the farmer behind nearly everything on his menu.

The Downtown Grille

The restaurant now works with 20 local farmers and producers, and you can taste them all over the menu.

  • Vegetables: Fair Share Farm's large greenhouses keep the kitchen stocked with seasonal greens, tomatoes, and other produce year-round.

  • Beef: Apple Brandy Beef is a third-generation farm raising grass-fed beef for staples like the Picanha Steak.

  • Seafood: Southern Breeze Seafood brings the freshest tuna, shrimp, and crab from the NC coast for several small plate dishes.

  • Mushrooms: Heritage Harvest and Toska Truffles supply mushrooms for the popular Chicken Marsala and Crab & Conchiglie Pasta.
