Who: The Griswolds are NC natives who met at App State and moved to Winston-Salem in 2018. Pickleball became a way for them to spend time together, but most groups they found were either too competitive or gatekept by skill level. So in August 2025, they started Average Joe Pickleball, the casual league they’d been looking for.

The League: Players of all skill levels hit the courts at Little Creek Park every Sunday, then head to a nearby restaurant to keep the conversation going.
